Each room at LENSCAPE is shaped by an image and a story. The photographs that inhabit these spaces were created by Luís Espinheira, a visual artist, researcher, and educator exploring photography as a space of perception, intuition, and experimentation, and Inês Silva Sá, a photographer and videographer whose multidisciplinary practice bridges art, design, and authentic visual storytelling. More than illustrating rooms, their images capture fragments of encounters, light, landscapes, and moments that go beyond the obvious, transforming each space into a narrative where imagination and perception meet.

At a time when Portuguese cities, landscapes, and traditions are in constant transformation, Luís and Inês were invited to explore and reinterpret Portugalidade through their unique perspectives. Their work reveals Portugal in its many layers – personal, poetic, and contemporary – capturing the details, contrasts, and soul that make the country so captivating.
Through their lenses and words, Portugal is seen not only but felt, inviting guests to experience its charm, beauty, and extraordinariness in a profoundly intimate way.
The vision was to create an atmosphere that feels both refined and relaxed – a space where guests can experience a contemporary expression of Portugal’s creative spirit.
The studio’s approach is focused and timeless. Rather than following fleeting trends, which quickly date, STUDIO Christian Haas designs with a sense of quiet permanence, seeking an enduring balance between elegance and comfort.
Throughout the hotel, natural materials take center stage: various types of wood, glazed ceramics, porcelain, and custom-made textiles. Clean white walls serve as a neutral backdrop, allowing textures, color accents, and bold design elements to stand out. The result is a space that feels warm, harmonious, and tactile.
Many of the interior elements – such as porcelain wall lights, wardrobes, stools, tables, and upholstery – were designed exclusively for LENSCAPE and crafted in collaboration with local artisans and craftsmen. These bespoke pieces are complemented by a curated selection of designs from notable brands, including the vibrant FONTE lamps and SCOUT chairs, completing an interior that feels both personal and purposeful.
